Interior Design Boards

The Project Boards are all assignments that show what the inside of a room/area contain.

The window treatment project was assigned to teach me of different types of curtain designs and helped me to realize the different types/parts of a curtain. Not only that, but I learned that if a future client had wanted custom made curtains, it would require very specific measurements from the already placed window.

The kitchen project was meant for me and my classmates to specify in what a kitchen would require and should consider. The Holmans being a polygamist family with multiple wives, I had to consider the option for the wives to have a kitchen useable for multiple people also design a eating area for the big family to eat together. I still took into consideration of the extra appliances the household would use, like coffee machines and extra cabinetry in the island.

The FCCLA competition was given as an assignment, to complete a young married couple wanting to remodel their new home for just the two of them. They had some specific necessities, that my group and I had to also work around and intertwine into the project.

The Calvins was a specific project made to design a bathroom in a residential area, in this scenario we were given a master bathroom to complete for the clients, they wanted a contemporary styled bathroom and spa like experience, with bold feminine colors. Having time I also chose what kind of fabrics they would want as for seating and curtains, even the ottoman held aside for the vanity.

The color harmony project helped me to understand great uses of other fabrics used together. I was also taught that having a main fabric design is important for the client to have a successful color harmony throughout the home.
